The aims of the PiDRL Workshop were to
(a) present and discuss the project’s results,
(b) submit the draft European Guidelines for comments and critical review by a larger audience and
(c) identify the needs for further action on DRLs and optimisation of radiation protection of paediatric patients.

The workshop was aimed at key stakeholders in paediatric imaging. The consortium encouraged wide attendance in order to ensure a sound basis of discussion for the proposed Guidelines and to identify the need for further action on DRLs and optimisation of radiation protection of paediatric patients. The workshop brought together around 160 participants from more than 30 countries. It involved many paediatric radiologists, as well as paediatric interventionalists, radiographers and medical physicists, in addition to other stakeholders in the project, with the intention of motivating them to utilise guidelines and implement the use of DRLs to achieve patient protection in day-to-day practice.
